Open Innovation Africa Ideas Challenge (OIAS2 from Ideas to Innovation) is a global, open innovation competition, a challenge.
Everyone that has an idea can participate. We believe that this challenge acts as a stimulating environment for entrepreneurs, students, SMEs, experienced professionals, researchers, local and regional actors, NGOs to share ideas, give and take feedback and show their talent.
Ideators of the 3 best ideas shall be invited to Open Innovation Africa Summit 2012 (OIAS2) in Nairobi, Kenya on May 28-30 to share their thoughts with respected OIAS2 participants – travel (tourist class), summit and accommodation included.
Ideas will be evaluated by jury consisting of members from infoDev, Capgemini, Nokia and the Academia. They will evaluate the ideas using the following criteria (not in order of priority):
- Impact: societal, business, innovation
- Scalability: how this tool or practice can be ported to different scales and contexts
- Novelty: whether the idea is social or technological it should present fresh thinking and creative problem solving
