First Regional Mobile Application Laboratory for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, and Central Asia is established in Armenia.


Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) from Armenia, in partnership with the World Bank, the Government of Finland and Nokia, is implementing this one of a kind project. mLab provides major opportunities for mobile application industry development in regions mentioned above.

 

Who we are

 

mLab ECA is a focal point for increasing the regional competitiveness of innovative enterprises working in mobile content and applications creation. 

mLab ECA is one of the initial five to be established worldwide. It provides a platform for developing the technical and entrepreneurial skills, personal contacts and relationships needed to scale innovative mobile solutions into flourishing businesses. Supplied with state of the art equipment, mLab offers technical training and workshops.  It also connects developers and entrepreneurs with potential investors, academic experts, and public sector leaders.


EIF (Enterprise Incubator Foundation) is the implementing agency of mLab ECA. EIF is a business development and incubation agency established in 2002 to support the development of IT & High tech sector. EIF was selected as the host of mLab ECA through a competitive tendering process of a pool of over 15 applicants from different states. The first ever Regional Mobile Application Laboratory in Yerevan is a place where local and regional companies, technologists and experts collaborate to develop locally relevant applications that meet user demands.

 

What we do


The goal of mLab is to promote the development and increase the competitiveness of regional mobile solutions in global markets.


Mission of mLab is the development of new mobile applications and services, formation of new viable startups, creation of new and value added jobs and supply of qualified graduates.


Within the next 5 years mLab will have 60 new mobile applications and services created and brought to market 5 viable startups and 370 specialist interested parties trained.

How mLab started

 

The mLab ECA is funded by infoDev, a donor-funded program in the World Bank’s Financial and Private Sector Development Vice Presidency, as part of the Government of Finland and Nokia joint program on Creating Sustainable Businesses in the Knowledge Economy.
